Why do people believe in God in terms of psychology?

I mean in most cases. It is clear that there are cases when psychiatric “diagnoses” are the cause of faith in God, etc. Is this a fear of responsibility? The desire to shift responsibility for the results of their life, your actions from yourself to someone else? In this case, to God.

What do you think?

  1. I cannot answer for all psychology, but I can share my observations. In my opinion, there is one main reason why people believe in God, and this is the environment, that is, family, society, culture, traditions. People believe in God because they were taught by believers, society, and culture. It is impossible, developing in a certain environment, not to “absorb” the concepts and ideas of this world. The more rules, customs and rituals include this or that culture of faith, the more they believe in it. If adults believe in God in the family, but do not follow traditions, then children in such a family can grow with different ideas about faith. Their ideas will be supported by the knowledge that they will receive and learn outside the family (at school, in literature, in the cinema), and it may be that faith will not take root in them. It is also as they grow up and gain a new life experience, a believing person , which ended up in a different environment (for example, in a scientific one), or in some difficult situation where Vera did not help – can change their attitude towards it. Why do adults believe in God? Because faith in the Savior gives hope for salvation, protection, for getting rid of suffering, for the best. Faith for people is the support that, at least a little, but reduces the alarming background.

  2. Faith faith. Fanatic faith is dangerous. And the helping faith can be useful for humans. The point of view of deep psychology, faith in God and generally interpretation of religion is different and depends on the perception of parents. For one person, God is punishing. For another – helping. And in prolonged psychotherapy, the perception of God can change. In cases of incurable deadly diseases, faith helps people to let go of guilt, to know the meaning of life and death. The topic of responsibility is difficult to answer in general to this question. Indeed, for some people, faith can be a way to avoid responsibility, and for others – the reason to take responsibility. Because religions are still taught to take responsibility and be bold. And an irresponsible person will always find a reason: religion, president, etc.

  4. For me, faith in God is shifting responsibility for my life to higher powers. A kind of infantility. In some plan, this behavior can also manifest itself as negative thinking: God will punish and destructive adaptation: God endured and ordered us. And also do not forget that any religion can be an excellent tool for enslaving the masses. And hope that they love. attribute to any faith and which, by the way, got out of the Pandora box – a short path to disappointment in life.

  5. I will not say for everyone, but a person needs faith in something good. For example, I have two relatives. And they are seriously ill. One HIV, the other in gas poisoning (was poisoned at the enterprise). And now the question is asked. There is money for treatment. But both of them have to be treated with practically force. They are against, but what to do. Prays, yes. I agree, but still have to be treated by force. After all, my first uncle was my father, and the second cousin. So the question is: what to do or who is to blame? That’s it, no matter who, but we treat and believe that we can help. Personally, God helps me. By the way, I pray for the end of the war and for ours to win. I believe in the victory of both “our” and “our country.” I, like many, believe in the courage and courage of our soldiers and I think that everything was done correctly. And most importantly, I believe Putin. I believe that God sent us a strong and powerful president. He repeatedly led the country out of the crisis and has repeatedly proved that he was able to keep his word. An example of Erdogan and that he was not overthrown by evidence. And it doesn’t matter what others think. Our president did not kill other people’s presidents, as the amers did in Yugoslavia. Example, Slobodan Miloshevich. Other examples, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi. And so that our liberals do not say there. I do not support the LGBT move. After all, “this is what globe you need to pull the owl” so that our church recognizes same -sex marriages. Fortunately not. If our church declares that Western values are norm. I will put it with all my strength to the fact that God will not tolerate this. Therefore, I believe in God, the king and the Fatherland. And it doesn’t matter that the king is now called the president. By the way, about our liberals. As a journalist and lawyer, I had to deal with them. Often, they do not return money, do not comply with the law and, as a rule, may not even pay child support. My colleague won the process, and the liberal is against our government. He took and escaped from the country. Although his accounts were arrested. You see, you need to believe the soul, mind and body. And do not try to prove that you are a believer.

  6. Because it is a person’s natural desire to believe in all the best – it is easier for them to live psychologically, hoping for a miracle. Without faith (in general, not religious) it is impossible to live. In childhood, they believe in Santa Claus, because religion comes to replace him. Everyone believes in all the best with the only difference that one with the help of God, others without His “leadership” and subordination to Him and His ideas. And in our life, insecure-linthous people always expect freebies: it is desirable to solve their problems for free or minimal efforts. This demand at all times also gave birth to a proposal: from Jesus, Nostradamus, K. Marx with V. Lenin, A. Hitler, Pope to Vanga, Messing, Globa, Kashpirovsky, S. Lazarev, Sviyasha, Aum-Syrence, etc. The smaller “saviors” of mankind is somehow psychologists of astrologers-shaman-runs-howles. But … In 2000 years, no one was able to change a person, including Jesus. Only a person is able to change himself: it is impossible to control the will, it is only possible to pretend.
